The President's Meeting of Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held by video conference on June 19. The meeting was attended by Wang Junzheng, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Zheng Gang, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Tianjin University, Huang Hongwei, President of Graduate School of Tongji University, Liang Bin, Vice President and President of Graduate School of Sichuan University and Wan Xuehong, Executive Vice President; Gong Peng, Director of Cultivation Class, Yang Dongxiao, Director of Quality Office and Yuan Xu, Director of Comprehensive Office of Graduate School of Beijing Institute of Technology, Lu Zhengsong, Director of Research and Recruitment Office of Graduate School of Tianjin University Lu Zhengsong, Chen Huaming, Vice Dean of Graduate School of Sichuan University, Liu Meng, Director of Research and Recruitment Office, Ren Duying, Deputy Director of Cultivation Office, Yang Lihua, Vice Dean of Graduate School of Peking University, Liao Xiaoling, Director of Secretariat of the Joint Committee, and Yu Fei, Deputy Director of Comprehensive Office also attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Gong Qihuang, Secretary General of the Joint Committee and Executive Vice President and Dean of Graduate School of Peking University.
First of all, Gong Qihuang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all of you for taking valuable time to attend the meeting at this special time when the fight against the new epidemic is very intense and busy. He led a serious discussion on each of the listed topics. The meeting agreed on the division of work and rotation year of the current presidency; it was decided that the Joint Committee will establish three major projects for funding in 2020, and will announce and start the declaration work in the near future; for the major projects approved in 2019, their mid-term assessment work will be carried out at the end of this year; it was agreed that although the new crown epidemic has had an impact on the Annual Report on Chinese Graduate Education 2019 and the Annual Report on Chinese Graduate Education (2019), we overcame the difficulties and actively cooperated to maintain the publication of one per year; regarding the annual meeting of the Joint Committee in 2020, it was decided that a video conference of the President Dean would be held immediately after the National Conference on Graduate Education Regarding the international exchange work of the Joint Conference, it was decided that, in view of the unpredictability of the current epidemic in the international arena, no deans will be sent to attend international conferences on graduate education this year, but the Annual Report on Chinese Graduate Education (2018), which was compiled and published by the Joint Conference, will be published in the future. The meeting also discussed the internal affairs of the Joint Committee, and agreed to establish a project to support the research work on adding members to the Joint Committee of Deans, to start the work of upgrading and revamping the website of the Joint Committee and the appointment of contract staff of the Secretariat of the Joint Committee, etc., and agreed that The membership fee of the Association in 2020 will remain at RMB 15,000 per member unit. Looking to the future, we all agreed to strengthen the Association's own construction, and proposed to start the revision of the Association's Regulations at an appropriate time. The chairmen said that they would do their best to be the president of the Joint Committee, not forgetting the original intention, not disgracing the mission, and trying to make our due contribution to the development of postgraduate education in China. The meeting achieved the expected purpose and was a complete success.
